Steve studied art at Portsmouth College of Education. In the seventies he moved to Norfolk to teach Art where he was commissioned to design and make some of the ornate carved village signs which were a feature of the region.
A growing reputation for relief carving has led to many commissions for public bodies across East Anglia and further afield. At present he is involved in a memorial for the town of Whitchurch in Hampshire which carries eight relief panels in oak. Steve has a strong Christian faith; this together with a love for medieval English carving has influenced his 3 dimensional works. Steve has also painted and taught painting for some thirty years. Working mainly in oils, his paintings are a simple celebration of rural life that’s surrounds his own smallholding and among the people and domestic animals of the English countryside.
