David Brightmore
I lived in Snowdonia from 1985 to 2004, and my artwork celebrated that dramatic environment. I then moved to Mold, since when I have been influenced by the rounded hills of Clwyd and by the nearby urban centres of Chester and Manchester. My paintings are rarely specific to one place, but endeavour to express the grandeur of Eryri, the calm Clwydian landscape in all its colours and the figurative aspects of townscapes in both North Wales and the North West of England.
I have had solo shows in numerous venues in North Wales and Chester and joint shows with six colleagues in Sheffield, Glasgow and London. Recent exhibiting has been in Stoke, Chester and Manchester.
