Sue Weaver
Having started her training at Dartington College of Arts in the early 1980’s, sue decided to develop her work through using traditional batik methods. By re-inventing and subverting the way various accepted methods and approaches to art and craft, she was able to introduce a small amount of anarchy and humour in to the surrounding art world. Recently, Sue graduated with first class honours at the Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough and was short-listed for the Bloomberg New Contemporaries exhibition. Sue has exhibited throughout Yorkshire and has also carried out international commissions. She works mainly with oils but incorporates encaustic and printing techniques in to her work, ‘I find working with Wax particularly fascinating and exciting. It has a luscious tactile quality, and the ability to transform from one state to another, which adds a greater sense of intrigue. The painting transforms in to something new and has therefore created its own identity’
